Romantic Places to Spend Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is creeping up on us once again and, if you are lucky enough to be in a romantic relationship, it’s never too early to start planning where you are going to spend the most romantic day of the year. If you are not in a romantic relationship and are fed up with hearing about affairs of the heart, you may want to stop reading now.

So, lovers, where should you spend February 14th? While some would argue that a home-cooked meal and a nice glass of wine is the ideal way to spend the evening, others look for something a little more spectacular to mark St Valentine’s Day.

How about whisking your loved one off on a surprise visit to Paris, for example? It may not be the most original idea in the world, but it is one that can’t really fail to impress. It is with good reason that Paris is known as the City of Lovers, and romantic types flock here each year to take in the world famous sights, eat delicious French cuisine, browse the art galleries and the legendary shops, and just take in the overwhelming sense of romance.

And if you are planning to ‘pop the question’ this Valentine’s Day, there’s really no better place in the world to do it.

For a Valentine’s Day that’s packed with Parisian romantic spirit, how about treating your partner to breakfast in bed at your hotel (you will have booked this months in advance to get the best deals on the best rooms, of course); before heading off for a morning walk down the River Seine.

After coffee and croissants at a pavement cafe (wrap up warm, Paris is chilly in February), head to the Louvre to see some of the most famous paintings in the world, before taking a walk oown the Champs Elysee and treating your loved one to an extra special gift from the chic shops and boutiques to be found here.

Next, head to the Eiffel Tower and wait until you have reached the summit and are taking in the views before taking a deep breath and asking the big question.

Assuming the answer is yes (and of course it will be!), head off to a restaurant (you will have pre-booked this too, right?) for dinner and drinks (Champagne, of course!) to mark the occasion.

When it comes to the Big Day itself, Paris Wedding Venues can be the ideal place to hold the ceremony.
Okay, so it’s been done before, but that doesn’t make a Valentine’s Day, proposal or wedding in Paris any less special.
