Sardinia

Have you ever known anyone who has been to Sardinia and have not thoroughly enjoyed their visit?

Sun, sea and good food is just a small part of what the world has to say about this autonomous region of Italy.

Sardinia is the second largest Island in the Mediterranean Sea. It is larger than Cyprus but smaller than Sicily. The name of the island stems from the ancient Sardinian mythological hero and god, Sardus.

The Island is situated 38'51' and 41’15 latitude north and 8'8' and 9'50 east longitude. To the west of Sardinia is the Balearic Sea, which is a part of the Mediterranean Sea; to its east lays the Tyrrhenian Sea, which is also just a section of the all-encompassing Mediterranean Sea.

There are roughly three hundred days of sunshine during the year. Most of its rainfall is during its autumn and winter months. In the spring the rain can be quite heavy. and tends to turn into snowfalls in the highlands. The weather on most of the island is usually cool and dry, which gives Sardinia one of the most comfortable or hospitable climate to live under.

If you want to find a great location to stay then try Doubletree Sardinia.

One of the places to visit is Stintino, a coastal commune in the province of Sassari. It is a popular seaside resort and has three ports which are tourist magnets: Porto Mannu, Marina di Stintino and Porto Minore. Once you arrive the staff at the Doubletree Hotel Sardinia would be more than happy to help you plan the rest of your trip to the area.
